Biography:

Shihong Du is a professor of Philosophy of Language and PhD student supervisor at College of International Studies, Southwest University, China. Shihong Du is Vice-president of China Association for Philosophy of Language, Standing Director of China Pragmatics Association, Associate Executive Director of Research Center for Modern Linguistics and Foreign Language Education, and Freeman Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. Shihong Du works primarily in modern philosophy of language, cognitive linguistics, pragmatics, and philosophical semantics. His work manifests his interests in the above fields. He is author of Language and Life(2018), Lines and Coherence: Discourse Understanding in Philosophy of Language (2012), A Linguistic Tour of Americanism (2005) and The Sign System of Human Pretending (2013). Shihong Du is expecting postgraduates, visiting scholars and post doctoral students to join him for doing research projects in modern philosophy of language, cognitive linguistics and philosophical semantics.
